Italy shares lower at close of trade; Investing.com Italy 40 down 0.61%

Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms , Travel & Leisure and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 0.61% to hit a new 52-week low.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Pirelli & C SPA (MI: PIRC ), which rose 3.08% or 0.19 points to trade at 6.30 at the close. Buzzi Unicem (MI: BZU ) added 2.67% or 0.47 points to end at 17.86 and Banco Bpm SpA (MI: BAMI ) was up 1.76% or 0.032 points to 1.872 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Telecom Italia (MI: TLIT ), which lost 2.39% or 0.0120 points to trade at 0.4900 in late trade. FinecoBank Banca Fineco SpA (MI: FBK ) declined 1.89% or 0.19 points to end at 9.77 and Unione di Banche Italiane SpA (MI: UBI ) shed 1.50% or 0.0450 points to 2.9590.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 185 to 178 and 28 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.08% or 0.06 to $71.03 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.60% or 0.48 to hit $79.78 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.40% or 4.90 to trade at $1222.70 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was down 0.30% to 1.1558, while EUR/GBP rose 0.26% to 0.8785.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.25% at 94.93.
