Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Technology, Financials and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 0.84%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Freni Brembo SpA (MI:BRBI), which rose 0.70% or 0.09 points to trade at 13.00 at the close. Leonardo SpA (MI:LDOF) added 0.48% or 0.070 points to end at 14.570 and Recordati (MI:RECI) was up 0.45% or 0.16 points to 35.64 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Buzzi Unicem (MI:BZU), which lost 3.28% or 0.69 points to trade at 20.35 in late trade. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MI:FCHA) declined 2.11% or 0.215 points to end at 9.985 and Banca Generali (MI:BGN) shed 1.93% or 0.59 points to 29.91.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 240 to 114 and 18 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.43% or 0.21 to $49.38 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.63% or 0.33 to hit $52.47 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 1.19% or 15.03 to trade at $1277.63 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.09% to 1.1741, while EUR/GBP fell 0.11% to 0.9037.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 93.53.
