Italy shares lower at close of trade; Investing.com Italy 40 down 0.96%

Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Chemicals , Travel & Leisure and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 fell 0.96% to hit a new 1-month low.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Unipol Gruppo Finanziario Spa (MI: UNPI ), which rose 1.89% or 0.072 points to trade at 3.872 at the close. UnipolSai Assicurazioni SpA (MI: US ) added 1.39% or 0.027 points to end at 1.972 and Snam (MI: SRG ) was up 0.81% or 0.034 points to 4.236 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MI: FCHA ), which lost 5.98% or 0.890 points to trade at 13.990 in late trade. Bper Banca SpA (MI: EMII ) declined 3.20% or 0.140 points to end at 4.240 and Saipem SpA (MI: SPMI ) shed 2.30% or 0.0780 points to 3.3200.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 288 to 83 and 13 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 1.25% or 0.65 to $51.39 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 1.58% or 0.92 to hit $57.23 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.47% or 6.07 to trade at $1289.07 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was up 0.40% to 1.1834, while EUR/GBP rose 0.69% to 0.8988.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.24% at 93.08.
