Italy shares lower at close of trade; Investing.com Italy 40 down 1.20%

Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms , Financials and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 1.20%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Freni Brembo SpA (MI: BRBI ), which rose 2.25% or 0.26 points to trade at 11.81 at the close. Saipem SpA (MI: SPMI ) added 0.84% or 0.0380 points to end at 4.5680 and Pirelli & C SPA (MI: PIRC ) was up 0.36% or 0.03 points to 7.28 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Tenaris (MI: TENR ), which lost 5.59% or 0.84 points to trade at 14.19 in late trade. Bper Banca SpA (MI: EMII ) declined 3.76% or 0.150 points to end at 3.840 and Banca Generali (MI: BGN ) shed 3.34% or 0.74 points to 21.42.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 247 to 99 and 33 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.62% or 0.43 to $69.94 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.49% or 0.38 to hit $77.84 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.59% or 7.20 to trade at $1204.30 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was down 0.44% to 1.1655, while EUR/GBP fell 0.31% to 0.8960.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 94.73.
