Italy shares lower at close of trade; Investing.com Italy 40 down 1.20%

Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms , Oil & Gas and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 1.20% to hit a new 52-week low.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Tenaris (MI: TENR ), which rose 1.83% or 0.26 points to trade at 14.45 at the close. Italgas SpA (MI: IG ) added 1.17% or 0.054 points to end at 4.654 and Prysmian (MI: PRY ) was up 0.95% or 0.21 points to 22.22 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Pirelli & C SPA (MI: PIRC ), which lost 4.65% or 0.34 points to trade at 6.94 in late trade. Telecom Italia (MI: TLIT ) declined 3.35% or 0.0190 points to end at 0.5490 and Banco Bpm SpA (MI: BAMI ) shed 3.11% or 0.062 points to 1.939.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 271 to 88 and 33 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.40% or 0.28 to $69.97 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.23% or 0.18 to hit $77.84 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.03% or 0.40 to trade at $1205.40 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was down 0.65% to 1.1591, while EUR/GBP fell 0.21% to 0.8948.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.52% at 95.13.
