Italy shares lower at close of trade; Investing.com Italy 40 down 1.79%

Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Healthcare , Financials and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 1.79% to hit a new 1-month low.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Ferrari NV (MI: RACE ), which rose 4.03% or 4.20 points to trade at 108.50 at the close. STMicroelectronics (MI: STM ) added 0.81% or 0.150 points to end at 18.755 and Italgas SpA (MI: IG ) was up 0.14% or 0.007 points to 4.846 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Tenaris (MI: TENR ), which lost 6.30% or 0.98 points to trade at 14.65 in late trade. Poste Italiane SpA (MI: PST ) declined 5.41% or 0.430 points to end at 7.524 and Saipem SpA (MI: SPMI ) shed 5.29% or 0.2340 points to 4.1900.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 309 to 74 and 18 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 2.02% or 1.37 to $69.03 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 1.41% or 1.02 to hit $73.41 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.37% or 4.50 to trade at $1223.10 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was down 0.39% to 1.1614, while EUR/GBP rose 0.30% to 0.8910.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.37% at 94.81.
