Italy shares lower at close of trade; Investing.com Italy 40 down 1.91%

Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Technology , Financials and Chemicals sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 1.91% to hit a new 52-week low.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Recordati (MI: RECI ), which rose 1.54% or 0.45 points to trade at 29.62 at the close. Salvatore Ferragamo SpA (MI: SFER ) added 0.94% or 0.18 points to end at 19.39 and Italgas SpA (MI: IG ) was up 0.91% or 0.041 points to 4.524 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Buzzi Unicem (MI: BZU ), which lost 6.43% or 1.11 points to trade at 16.23 in late trade. Banco Bpm SpA (MI: BAMI ) declined 5.70% or 0.106 points to end at 1.750 and STMicroelectronics (MI: STM ) shed 4.98% or 0.745 points to 14.205.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 254 to 99 and 29 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.52% or 0.36 to $69.39 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.35% or 0.28 to hit $79.77 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.32% or 3.90 to trade at $1231.30 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was down 0.25% to 1.1473, while EUR/GBP rose 0.23% to 0.8790.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.22% at 95.56.
