Italy shares lower at close of trade; Investing.com Italy 40 down 2.33%

Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Technology , Financials and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 2.33% to hit a new 6-month low.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Davide Campari Milano SpA (MI: CPRI ), which fell 0.22% or 0.01 points to trade at 6.91 at the close. Snam (MI: SRG ) fell 0.29% or 0.010 points to end at 3.469 and Terna (MI: TRN ) was down 0.31% or 0.014 points to 4.451 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Prysmian (MI: PRY ), which lost 10.00% or 2.32 points to trade at 20.88 in late trade. Unipol Gruppo Finanziario Spa (MI: UNPI ) declined 6.15% or 0.218 points to end at 3.327 and STMicroelectronics (MI: STM ) shed 4.81% or 0.970 points to 19.190.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 287 to 66 and 31 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.60% or 0.41 to $68.17 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 1.54% or 1.16 to hit $74.16 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.24% or 3.00 to trade at $1267.70 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was up 0.32% to 1.1691, while EUR/GBP rose 0.28% to 0.8813.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 94.04.
