Japan shares higher at close of trade; Nikkei 225 up 0.44%

Investing.com – Japan equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Paper & Pulp , Railway & Bus and Real Estate sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 added 0.44%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Nikkei 225 were Shiseido Co., Ltd. (T: 4911 ), which rose 8.13% or 590.0 points to trade at 7850.0 at the close. Toray Industries, Inc. (T: 3402 ) added 6.10% or 42.9 points to end at 746.3 and Terumo Corp. (T: 4543 ) was up 5.68% or 178.0 points to 3314.0 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Shinsei Bank, Ltd. (T: 8303 ), which lost 12.02% or 195.5 points to trade at 1431.5 in late trade. Taiheiyo Cement Corp. (T: 5233 ) declined 9.64% or 279.5 points to end at 2619.5 and Citizen Holdings Co., Ltd. (T: 7762 ) shed 7.27% or 38.0 points to 485.0.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 1920 to 1508 and 265 ended unchanged on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
The Nikkei Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.06.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.11% or 0.06 to $52.60 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.12% or 0.07 to hit $57.45 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.27% or 4.05 to trade at $1513.55 a troy ounce.
USD/JPY was down 0.12% to 105.94, while EUR/JPY fell 0.03% to 118.52.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 97.412.
