Mexico shares higher at close of trade; IPC up 0.36%

Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financial Services , Telecoms Services and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC added 0.36%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Fomento Economico Mexicano UBD (MX: FMSAUBD ), which rose 2.68% or 4.65 points to trade at 178.22 at the close. Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico SAB De CV (MX: SANMEXB ) added 1.28% or 0.450 points to end at 35.690 and Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX: GFNORTEO ) was up 1.27% or 1.590 points to 126.890 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Becle SA (MX: CUERVO ), which lost 2.27% or 0.700 points to trade at 30.170 in late trade. Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX: ALPEKA ) declined 2.23% or 0.400 points to end at 17.550 and Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX: PENOLES ) shed 2.01% or 9.10 points to 444.03.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 148 to 89 and 8 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.61% or 21.19 to $1295.21 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.06% or 0.03 to hit $50.72 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.34% or 0.19 to trade at $56.48 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.67% to 17.8894, while EUR/MXN rose 1.10% to 21.3649.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 91.98.
