Mexico shares higher at close of trade; S&P/BMV IPC up 0.27% – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms Services , Industrials and Materials sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC rose 0.27%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were BanRegio Grupo Financiero SAB de CV (MX: RA ), which rose 7.73% or 6.68 points to trade at 93.11 at the close. Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX: LALAB ) added 4.46% or 0.79 points to end at 18.50 and Mexichem , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX: MEXCHEM ) was up 3.30% or 1.670 points to 52.290 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Coca Cola Femsa SAB De CV (MX: KOFL ), which lost 2.38% or 2.98 points to trade at 122.18 in late trade. Infraestructura Energetica Nova SAB (MX: IENOVA ) declined 1.57% or 1.22 points to end at 76.72 and Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (MX: GFINBURO ) shed 1.34% or 0.370 points to 27.150.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 171 to 103 and 10 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.07% or 0.90 to $1243.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 2.27% or 1.20 to hit $51.69 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 2.14% or 1.32 to trade at $60.24 a barrel.

USD/MXN was down 0.72% to 20.3583, while EUR/MXN fell 0.40% to 23.1707.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.32% at 96.703.
