Mexico shares higher at close of trade; S&P/BMV IPC up 0.64%
Credit: © Reuters. – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financial Services , Telecoms Services and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC added 0.64%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Mexichem , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX: MEXCHEM ), which rose 2.94% or 1.390 points to trade at 48.710 at the close. Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX: GFNORTEO ) added 2.60% or 2.810 points to end at 110.870 and Fomento Economico Mexicano UBD (MX: FMSAUBD ) was up 1.66% or 2.88 points to 176.34 in late trade.

Biggest losers included VOLARIS A (MX: VOLARA ), which lost 2.18% or 0.38 points to trade at 17.06 in late trade. Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX: ELEKTRA ) declined 1.77% or 13.73 points to end at 760.02 and Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico SAB De CV (MX: SANMEXB ) shed 0.95% or 0.280 points to 29.090.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 123 to 97 and 19 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.73% or 9.30 to $1268.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $57.48 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to trade at $62.66 a barrel.

USD/MXN was down 0.03% to 18.7615, while EUR/MXN rose 0.00% to 22.1903.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 93.27.
