Mexico shares lower at close of trade; S&P/BMV IPC down 0.22%

Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Financial Services , Consumer Staples and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC declined 0.22%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico SAB De CV Class B (MX: GAPB ), which rose 2.72% or 4.96 points to trade at 187.13 at the close. VOLARIS A (MX: VOLARA ) added 2.25% or 0.31 points to end at 14.07 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (MX: OMAB ) was up 1.52% or 1.750 points to 117.120 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX: GFNORTEO ), which lost 2.14% or 2.900 points to trade at 132.510 in late trade. GMexico Transportes SA de CV (MX: GMXT ) declined 1.79% or 0.560 points to end at 30.800 and Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX: WALMEX ) shed 1.58% or 0.870 points to 54.090.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 123 to 117 and 17 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.52% or 18.20 to $1212.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.12% or 0.76 to hit $68.59 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.23% or 0.92 to trade at $75.65 a barrel.

USD/MXN was down 0.48% to 18.9175, while EUR/MXN rose 0.25% to 21.9906.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.50% at 95.07.
