Mexico shares lower at close of trade; S&P/BMV IPC down 0.23%
Credit: © Reuters. – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms Services , Consumer Staples and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC fell 0.23%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were BanRegio Grupo Financiero SAB de CV (MX: RA ), which rose 2.78% or 2.76 points to trade at 102.07 at the close. Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX: GMEXICOB ) added 2.25% or 1.000 points to end at 45.410 and Gentera SAB de CV (MX: GENTERA ) was up 2.21% or 0.300 points to 13.850 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX: MEGACPO ), which lost 2.45% or 2.220 points to trade at 88.260 in late trade. Becle SA (MX: CUERVO ) declined 1.85% or 0.450 points to end at 23.880 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (MX: OMAB ) shed 1.74% or 1.900 points to 107.000.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 152 to 150 and 14 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.32% or 4.05 to $1279.95 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 1.03% or 0.54 to hit $53.16 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.08% or 0.05 to trade at $61.09 a barrel.

USD/MXN was down 0.01% to 19.0200, while EUR/MXN fell 0.60% to 21.5179.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.46% at 96.208.
