Mexico shares lower at close of trade; S&P/BMV IPC down 0.84% – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Consumer Staples , Telecoms Services and Financial Services sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC fell 0.84% to hit a new 3-month low.

The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Cementos De Chihuahua (MX: GCC ), which rose 4.95% or 5.280 points to trade at 112.000 at the close. GMexico Transportes SA de CV (MX: GMXT ) added 1.56% or 0.480 points to end at 31.230 and PINFRA SAB De CV (MX: PINFRA ) was up 1.54% or 2.95 points to 194.69 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Becle SA (MX: CUERVO ), which lost 15.29% or 4.615 points to trade at 25.575 in late trade. Mexichem , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX: MEXCHEM ) declined 5.34% or 3.140 points to end at 55.640 and Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (MX: TLVACPO ) shed 2.84% or 1.61 points to 55.05.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 184 to 85 and 14 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.57% or 7.00 to $1236.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.50% or 0.34 to hit $67.67 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.08% or 0.83 to trade at $77.72 a barrel.

USD/MXN was down 0.60% to 19.3721, while EUR/MXN fell 0.30% to 22.0976.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.34% at 96.13.
