Mexico shares lower at close of trade; S&P/BMV IPC down 1.39%
Credit: © Reuters. – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Financial Services , Consumer Staples and Telecoms Services sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC declined 1.39% to hit a new 6-month low.

The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Fomento Economico Mexicano UBD (MX: FMSAUBD ), which rose 0.90% or 1.52 points to trade at 169.76 at the close. Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico SAB De CV Class B (MX: GAPB ) added 0.40% or 0.71 points to end at 178.55 and Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX: ALPEKA ) was up 0.22% or 0.050 points to 22.300 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX: WALMEX ), which lost 3.72% or 1.700 points to trade at 43.960 in late trade. Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX: LALAB ) declined 3.54% or 1.07 points to end at 29.17 and Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX: GFNORTEO ) shed 3.47% or 3.960 points to 110.020.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 173 to 75 and 16 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.51% or 6.56 to $1293.86 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.90% or 1.12 to hit $57.83 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.36% or 0.23 to trade at $63.70 a barrel.

USD/MXN was down 0.03% to 18.5861, while EUR/MXN fell 0.02% to 22.1155.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.14% at 92.85.
