Mexico shares lower at close of trade; IPC down 1.47%

Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financial Services , Industrials and Consumer Goods & Services sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Mexico, the IPC declined 1.47%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX: LABB ), which rose 3.58% or 0.810 points to trade at 23.420 at the close. Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX: PENOLES ) added 2.12% or 9.720 points to end at 468.110 and Grupo Televisa SA (MX: TLVACPO ) was up 0.39% or 0.360 points to 93.360 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX: ALSEA ), which lost 3.71% or 2.620 points to trade at 67.920 in late trade. Fomento Economico Mexicano UBD (MX: FMSAUBD ) declined 3.50% or 6.350 points to end at 174.950 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (MX: OMAB ) shed 3.41% or 3.750 points to 106.220.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 98 to 72 and 4 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 1.25% or 15.90 to $1289.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.81% or 0.38 to hit $46.48 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 1.42% or 0.69 to trade at $47.92 a barrel.

USD/MXN was up 1.71% to 19.1827, while EUR/MXN rose 2.38% to 21.2065.

The US Dollar Index was down 0.57% at 97.76.
