Morocco shares higher at close of trade; Moroccan All Shares up 2.21%

Investing.com – Morocco equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Utilities , Insurance and Construction & Building Materials sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Casablanca, the Moroccan All Shares added 2.21% to hit a new 3-year high.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Moroccan All Shares were Delattre Levivier Maroc (CS: DLM ), which rose 5.99% or 10.90 points to trade at 192.90 at the close. Oulmes (CS: OULM ) added 5.86% or 75 points to end at 1355 and Maghreb Oxygene (CS: OXYG ) was up 5.79% or 5.80 points to 106.00 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Med Paper (CS: PAP ), which lost 1.45% or 0.29 points to trade at 19.70 in late trade. Disway SA (CS: DWY ) declined 1.10% or 4.00 points to end at 360.00 and Sonasid (CS: SOND ) shed 0.90% or 4 points to 401.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 47 to 7 and 4 ended unchanged on the Casablanca Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 1.96% or 1.00 to $51.90 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 2.09% or 1.13 to hit $55.15 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.86% or 9.75 to trade at $1139.55 a troy ounce.

EUR/MAD was down 0.10% to 10.6100, while USD/MAD fell 0.35% to 10.1445.

The US Dollar Index was down 0.38% at 102.76.
