Morocco shares lower at close of trade; Moroccan All Shares down 1.04%

Investing.com – Morocco equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Insurance , Beverage and Forestry & Paper sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Casablanca, the Moroccan All Shares declined 1.04% to hit a new 52-week low.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Moroccan All Shares were Ciments Du Maroc (CS: SCM ), which rose 8.40% or 141 points to trade at 1820 at the close. Alliances (CS: ADI ) added 7.58% or 8 points to end at 115 and Maghrebail (CS: MAB ) was up 5.44% or 49 points to 949 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Wafa Assurance (CS: WASS ), which lost 9.98% or 472 points to trade at 4257 in late trade. BMCI (CS: BMCI ) declined 9.60% or 92 points to end at 866 and Saham Assurance (CS: SAH ) shed 7.84% or 120 points to 1411.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 26 to 17 and 6 ended unchanged on the Casablanca Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.98% or 0.72 to $74.17 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.92% or 1.49 to hit $79.10 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.42% or 5.20 to trade at $1256.20 a troy ounce.

EUR/MAD was up 0.30% to 11.0780, while USD/MAD fell 0.61% to 9.4890.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.79% at 94.25.
