Morocco shares lower at close of trade; Moroccan All Shares down 1.14%

Investing.com – Morocco equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Utilities , Insurance and Mining sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Casablanca, the Moroccan All Shares lost 1.14%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Moroccan All Shares were Centrale Danone (CS: CDA ), which rose 5.98% or 31 points to trade at 544 at the close. Dari Couspate SA (CS: DRI ) added 5.46% or 118 points to end at 2280 and Jet Contractors (CS: JET ) was up 5.03% or 8.00 points to 167.00 in late trade.

Biggest losers included SMI (CS: SMI ), which lost 5.97% or 179 points to trade at 2820 in late trade. Wafa Assurance (CS: WASS ) declined 4.87% or 228 points to end at 4450 and Lydec (CS: LYD ) shed 4.07% or 25.00 points to 590.00.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 30 to 11 and 3 ended unchanged on the Casablanca Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was down 0.39% or 0.21 to $53.09 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 0.54% or 0.30 to hit $55.05 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.00% or 0.05 to trade at $1133.65 a troy ounce.

EUR/MAD was up 0.15% to 10.5980, while USD/MAD fell 0.23% to 10.1610.

The US Dollar Index was down 0.25% at 103.00.
