Netherlands shares higher at close of trade; AEX up 0.03%
Credit: © Reuters. – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Basic Materials , Healthcare and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.03%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Koninklijke Vopak NV (AS: VOPA ), which rose 5.03% or 2.01 points to trade at 41.94 at the close. Royal Dutch Shell PLC Class A (AS: RDSa ) added 1.53% or 0.420 points to end at 27.785 and Koninklijke KPN NV (AS: KPN ) was up 1.50% or 0.035 points to 2.371 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Aalberts Industries NV (AS: AALB ), which lost 2.81% or 0.94 points to trade at 32.52 in late trade. Koninklijke DSM NV (AS: DSMN ) declined 2.46% or 2.00 points to end at 79.38 and Randstad NV (AS: RAND ) shed 2.20% or 0.97 points to 43.10.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 62 to 60 and 13 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.

The AEX Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 1.29% to 16.52.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.40% or 0.25 to $63.39 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.58% or 0.42 to hit $73.25 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.05% or 0.60 to trade at $1231.50 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was up 0.07% to 1.1397, while EUR/GBP fell 0.32% to 0.8752.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 96.22.
