Netherlands shares higher at close of trade; AEX up 0.50%
Credit: © Reuters. – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms , Oil & Gas and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.50% to hit a new 1-month high.

The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ArcelorMittal SA (AS: MT ), which rose 3.49% or 0.705 points to trade at 20.900 at the close. Koninklijke KPN NV (AS: KPN ) added 2.31% or 0.062 points to end at 2.749 and Randstad NV (AS: RAND ) was up 2.21% or 0.93 points to 43.04 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Koninklijke Philips NV (AS: PHG ), which lost 1.62% or 0.56 points to trade at 33.80 in late trade. ASR Nederland NV (AS: ASRNL ) declined 1.36% or 0.50 points to end at 36.36 and ABN AMRO Group NV (AS: ABNd ) shed 1.24% or 0.27 points to 21.45.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 65 to 63 and 10 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.

The AEX Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 7.29% to 13.29 a new 3-month low.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was up 2.34% or 1.26 to $55.05 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 2.53% or 1.54 to hit $62.38 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.22% or 2.85 to trade at $1322.35 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was up 0.23% to 1.1470, while EUR/GBP rose 0.41% to 0.8764.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 95.232.
