Netherlands shares higher at close of trade; AEX up 0.56%

Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Industrials , Basic Materials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.56%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Koninklijke Vopak NV (AS: VOPA ), which rose 4.52% or 1.74 points to trade at 40.20 at the close. Altice NV (AS: ATCA ) added 3.60% or 0.09 points to end at 2.44 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS: MT ) was up 2.52% or 0.630 points to 25.635 in late trade.

Biggest losers included NN Group NV (AS: NN ), which lost 1.64% or 0.61 points to trade at 36.64 in late trade. Koninklijke KPN NV (AS: KPN ) declined 1.22% or 0.028 points to end at 2.264 and Aegon NV (AS: AEGN ) shed 1.06% or 0.056 points to 5.218.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 85 to 40 and 9 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.

The AEX Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 9.86% to 12.06.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.40% or 0.26 to $65.47 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.74% or 0.53 to hit $72.36 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 1.00% or 11.80 to trade at $1196.00 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was up 0.18% to 1.1460, while EUR/GBP fell 0.06% to 0.8966.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 95.85.
