Netherlands shares lower at close of trade; AEX down 0.14% – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Industrials , Consumer Services and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 0.14%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ASML Holding NV (AS: ASML ), which rose 3.00% or 4.56 points to trade at 156.40 at the close. Altice NV (AS: ATCA ) added 2.84% or 0.06 points to end at 2.13 and Akzo Nobel (AS: AKZO ) was up 0.96% or 0.76 points to 80.28 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS: AD ), which lost 3.02% or 0.635 points to trade at 20.400 in late trade. Galapagos NV (AS: GLPG ) declined 2.44% or 2.550 points to end at 102.000 and Relx PLC (AS: REL ) shed 1.78% or 0.325 points to 17.940.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 72 to 58 and 12 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.

The AEX Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 6.58% to 12.83.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 2.23% or 1.57 to $68.80 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 1.67% or 1.33 to hit $78.41 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.17% or 2.00 to trade at $1208.90 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was up 0.44% to 1.1677, while EUR/GBP fell 0.01% to 0.8910.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.23% at 94.60.
