Netherlands shares lower at close of trade; AEX down 0.18%

Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Financials , Consumer Goods and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.18%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Altice NV (AS: ATCA ), which rose 15.62% or 0.29 points to trade at 2.14 at the close. Koninklijke KPN NV (AS: KPN ) added 3.00% or 0.076 points to end at 2.613 and Heineken (AS: HEIN ) was up 1.38% or 1.10 points to 80.82 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Aalberts Industries NV (AS: AALB ), which lost 2.55% or 0.81 points to trade at 30.96 in late trade. WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS: URW ) declined 1.82% or 2.82 points to end at 151.84 and ASR Nederland NV (AS: ASRNL ) shed 1.45% or 0.56 points to 38.10.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 83 to 47 and 8 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.

The AEX Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 1.47% to 16.62.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was down 0.33% or 0.17 to $51.28 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 0.43% or 0.26 to hit $59.65 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.26% or 3.20 to trade at $1227.20 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was down 0.63% to 1.1321, while EUR/GBP fell 0.45% to 0.8870.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.43% at 97.113.
