Netherlands shares lower at close of trade; AEX down 1.27%
Credit: © Reuters. – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Healthcare , Industrials and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 1.27%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Aalberts Industries NV (AS: AALB ), which rose 1.56% or 0.45 points to trade at 29.32 at the close. Relx PLC (AS: REL ) added 1.08% or 0.195 points to end at 18.310 and ASML Holding NV (AS: ASML ) was up 0.28% or 0.40 points to 144.48 in late trade.

Biggest losers included ING Groep NV (AS: INGA ), which lost 2.99% or 0.306 points to trade at 9.912 in late trade. Koninklijke DSM NV (AS: DSMN ) declined 2.87% or 2.16 points to end at 73.16 and Koninklijke Philips NV (AS: PHG ) shed 2.45% or 0.80 points to 31.68.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 105 to 21 and 11 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.

The AEX Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 5.67% to 18.50.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was down 1.77% or 0.91 to $50.56 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 0.80% or 0.48 to hit $59.80 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.62% or 7.70 to trade at $1249.10 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was up 0.39% to 1.1350, while EUR/GBP rose 0.12% to 0.8995.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.35% at 96.567.
