Nigeria shares lower at close of trade; NSE 30 down 0.09%
Credit: © Reuters. – Nigeria equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Oil & Gas , Banking and Insurance sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 lost 0.09%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the NSE 30 were Fidelitybk (LAGOS: FIDELIT ), which rose 2.72% or 0.050 points to trade at 1.900 at the close. Pz Cussons LG (LAGOS: PZ ) added 1.79% or 0.25 points to end at 14.50 and Skye Bank (LAGOS: SKYEBAN ) was up 1.67% or 0.010 points to 0.610 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Guiness Nig (LAGOS: GUINNES ), which lost 3.72% or 3.50 points to trade at 90.50 in late trade. Nestle Nig (LAGOS: NESTLE ) declined 3.36% or 52.40 points to end at 1507.60 and Total Nig (LAGOS: TOTAL ) shed 2.56% or 5.00 points to 195.00.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 44 to 43 and 17 ended unchanged on the Lagos.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 3.70% or 2.56 to $66.61 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 3.58% or 2.67 to hit $71.98 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.25% or 3.00 to trade at $1221.30 a troy ounce.

EUR/NGN was up 0.26% to 420.310, while USD/NGN rose 0.14% to 360.500.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 95.01.
