Nigeria shares lower at close of trade; NSE 30 down 0.73%
Credit: © Reuters. – Nigeria equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Food, Beverages & Tobacco , Banking and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 fell 0.73%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the NSE 30 were Unilever Nig (LAGOS: UNILEVE ), which rose 2.44% or 1.10 points to trade at 46.10 at the close. Fidelitybk (LAGOS: FIDELIT ) added 1.76% or 0.030 points to end at 1.730 and Nig Brew (LAGOS: NB ) was up 1.55% or 1.40 points to 91.50 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Guiness Nig (LAGOS: GUINNES ), which lost 7.25% or 6.25 points to trade at 79.90 in late trade. Uacn Prop (LAGOS: UACN ) declined 7.17% or 0.85 points to end at 11.00 and Pz Cussons LG (LAGOS: PZ ) shed 4.81% or 0.65 points to 12.55.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 47 to 32 and 14 ended unchanged on the Lagos.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.49% or 0.35 to $71.92 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.37% or 0.30 to hit $81.09 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.96% or 11.50 to trade at $1187.60 a troy ounce.

EUR/NGN was down 1.27% to 422.240, while USD/NGN fell 0.14% to 363.000.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.62% at 94.46.
