Nigeria shares lower at close of trade; NSE 30 down 0.81%

Investing.com – Nigeria equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Banking , Oil & Gas and Insurance sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 lost 0.81%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the NSE 30 were Total Nig (LAGOS: TOTAL ), which rose 10.19% or 19.70 points to trade at 213.00 at the close. Unilever Nig (LAGOS: UNILEVE ) added 3.77% or 2.00 points to end at 53.00 and Dangsugar (LAGOS: DANGSUG ) was up 2.04% or 0.40 points to 20.00 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Diamond Bank (LAGOS: DIAMONB ), which lost 6.17% or 0.100 points to trade at 1.520 in late trade. Guiness Nig (LAGOS: GUINNES ) declined 4.51% or 4.50 points to end at 95.25 and Skye Bank (LAGOS: SKYEBAN ) shed 3.80% or 0.030 points to 0.790.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 52 to 37 and 19 ended unchanged on the Lagos.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.47% or 0.31 to $65.64 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.98% or 0.76 to hit $76.56 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.04% or 0.50 to trade at $1302.50 a troy ounce.

EUR/NGN was down 0.75% to 422.520, while USD/NGN unchanged 0.00% to 360.500.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 93.55.
