Nigeria shares lower at close of trade; NSE 30 down 1.54%
Credit: © Reuters. – Nigeria equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Food, Beverages & Tobacco , Insurance and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 lost 1.54% to hit a new 52-week low.

The biggest gainers of the session on the NSE 30 were Pz Cussons LG (LAGOS: PZ ), which rose 4.81% or 0.65 points to trade at 14.15 at the close. Uacn Prop (LAGOS: UACN ) added 1.82% or 0.20 points to end at 11.20 and Skye Bank (LAGOS: SKYEBAN ) was up 1.72% or 0.010 points to 0.590 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Stanbicibtc Hl (LAGOS: IBTC ), which lost 9.78% or 4.40 points to trade at 40.60 in late trade. Nestle Nig (LAGOS: NESTLE ) declined 9.67% or 145.00 points to end at 1355.10 and Dangsugar (LAGOS: DANGSUG ) shed 8.44% or 1.35 points to 14.65.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 63 to 23 and 13 ended unchanged on the Lagos.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.28% or 0.19 to $67.56 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.43% or 0.33 to hit $77.16 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.02% or 0.30 to trade at $1200.10 a troy ounce.

EUR/NGN was up 0.61% to 420.520, while USD/NGN rose 0.61% to 362.000.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.29% at 95.10.
