Norway shares higher at close of trade; Oslo OBX up 0.02%

Investing.com – Norway equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Insurance , Consumer Durables And Apparel and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX rose 0.02% to hit a new all time high.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Petroleum Geo - Services ASA (OL: PGS ), which rose 5.53% or 1.10 points to trade at 20.56 at the close. Storebrand ASA (OL: STB ) added 3.22% or 2.20 points to end at 70.18 and Aker BP ASA (OL: AKERBP ) was up 0.93% or 2.00 points to 216.00 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Orkla ASA (OL: ORK ), which lost 3.17% or 2.70 points to trade at 82.50 in late trade. SalMar ASA (OL: SALM ) declined 1.18% or 2.80 points to end at 235.40 and Yara International ASA (OL: YAR ) shed 1.12% or 4.4 points to 387.0.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 92 to 88 and 24 ended unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.56% or 0.35 to $63.31 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.16% or 0.11 to hit $68.93 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.33% or 4.30 to trade at $1318.00 a troy ounce.

EUR/NOK was down 0.23% to 9.6508, while USD/NOK fell 0.42% to 8.0692.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.23% at 92.02.
