Norway shares higher at close of trade; Oslo OBX up 0.15%

Investing.com – Norway equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Insurance , Banking and Materials sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX added 0.15%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Norsk Hydro ASA (OL: NHY ), which rose 5.24% or 2.07 points to trade at 41.55 at the close. Storebrand ASA (OL: STB ) added 3.32% or 2.12 points to end at 65.92 and BW Offshore Ltd (OL: BWO ) was up 2.18% or 0.850 points to 39.850 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Marine Harvest ASA (OL: MOWI ), which lost 2.01% or 3.75 points to trade at 183.25 in late trade. Leroy Seafood Group ASA (OL: LSG ) declined 1.70% or 1.2 points to end at 67.1 and Yara International ASA (OL: YAR ) shed 1.62% or 5.9 points to 357.4.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 92 to 91 and 21 ended unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was down 0.36% or 0.19 to $51.92 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.26% or 0.16 to hit $60.80 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.50% or 6.45 to trade at $1294.85 a troy ounce.

EUR/NOK was down 0.11% to 9.7343, while USD/NOK fell 0.07% to 8.5340.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 95.637.
