Norway shares higher at close of trade; Oslo OBX up 0.23%

Investing.com – Norway equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Materials , Banking and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX added 0.23% to hit a new all time high.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Norsk Hydro ASA (OL: NHY ), which rose 3.27% or 1.54 points to trade at 48.51 at the close. Storebrand ASA (OL: STB ) added 2.35% or 1.64 points to end at 71.30 and Petroleum Geo - Services ASA (OL: PGS ) was up 1.29% or 0.49 points to 38.53 in late trade.

Biggest losers included SalMar ASA (OL: SALM ), which lost 1.64% or 7.20 points to trade at 430.60 in late trade. Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA (OL: NWC ) declined 1.52% or 3.70 points to end at 239.20 and Aker BP ASA (OL: AKERBP ) shed 1.24% or 3.60 points to 285.80.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 81 to 79 and 39 ended unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.13% or 0.09 to $67.03 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.01% or 0.01 to hit $72.27 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.01% or 0.10 to trade at $1221.10 a troy ounce.

EUR/NOK was up 0.47% to 9.5851, while USD/NOK rose 0.85% to 8.2898.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 95.23.
