Norway shares lower at close of trade; Oslo OBX down 0.74%

Investing.com – Norway equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Materials , Banking and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX fell 0.74%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Oslo OBX were SalMar ASA (OL: SALM ), which rose 1.78% or 7.80 points to trade at 446.00 at the close. REC Silicon ASA (OL: REC ) added 1.35% or 0.01 points to end at 0.64 and Orkla ASA (OL: ORK ) was up 1.18% or 0.82 points to 70.14 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Norsk Hydro ASA (OL: NHY ), which lost 11.85% or 5.83 points to trade at 49.41 in late trade. Petroleum Geo - Services ASA (OL: PGS ) declined 2.00% or 0.75 points to end at 36.75 and DnB ASA (OL: DNB ) shed 1.83% or 3.1 points to 166.2.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 103 to 80 and 26 ended unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.39% or 0.29 to $75.52 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.64% or 0.54 to hit $85.34 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.27% or 3.20 to trade at $1203.80 a troy ounce.

EUR/NOK was up 0.11% to 9.4493, while USD/NOK rose 0.28% to 8.1977.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.19% at 95.31.
