Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Services, Electricity and Banking & Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General rose 0.19% to hit a new 3-year high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Volcan Compania Minera SAA (LM:VOLa), which rose 4.76% or 0.200 points to trade at 4.400 at the close. PPX Mining Corp (LM:PPX) unchanged 2.86% or 0.00 points to end at 0.07 and Enel Distribucion Peru SAA (LM:ENE) was up 2.56% or 0.140 points to 5.600 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Candente Copper (LM:DNT), which lost 4.72% or 0.0050 points to trade at 0.1010 in late trade. Panoro (LM:PML) declined 3.43% or 0.011 points to end at 0.310 and Trevali Mining (LM:TV) shed 2.40% or 0.030 points to 1.220.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 14 to 10 and 17 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was down 0.27% or 0.17 to $63.80 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 0.27% or 0.19 to hit $69.19 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.90% or 12.00 to trade at $1327.20 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.06% to 3.2125, while EUR/PEN rose 0.07% to 3.9304.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.35% at 90.33.
