Peru shares higher at close of trade; S&P Lima General up 0.37%

Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the S&P Lima Juniors , Food & Beverages and Mining sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General added 0.37%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Panoro (LM: PML ), which rose 5.88% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.180 at the close. Trevali Mining (LM: TV ) added 3.57% or 0.020 points to end at 0.580 and Southern Copper Corp (LM: SPC ) was up 2.83% or 1.25 points to 45.45 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Cerro Verde (LM: CVE ), which lost 4.35% or 1.000 points to trade at 22.000 in late trade. Empresa Agroindustrial Pomalca (LM: POM ) declined 2.91% or 0.003 points to end at 0.100 and Buenaventura (LM: BVN ) shed 0.77% or 0.100 points to 12.900.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 18 to 8 and 17 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.28% or 0.19 to $68.91 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.60% or 0.46 to hit $76.59 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.35% or 4.20 to trade at $1217.50 a troy ounce.

USD/PEN was down 0.09% to 3.2881, while EUR/PEN rose 0.45% to 3.8433.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.43% at 94.67.
