Peru shares higher at close of trade; S&P Lima General up 0.47% – Peru equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Banking & Financials , Mining and Electricity sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General gained 0.47%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Rimac Seguros y Reaseguros (LM: RSR ), which rose 2.56% or 0.040 points to trade at 1.600 at the close. Bco Continenta (LM: CON ) added 2.35% or 0.100 points to end at 4.350 and Credicorp (LM: BAP ) was up 2.08% or 4.53 points to 222.02 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Cem Pacasmayo (LM: CPA ), which lost 3.03% or 0.250 points to trade at 8.000 in late trade. PPX Mining Corp (LM: PPX ) unchanged 2.99% or 0.00 points to end at 0.07 and Empresa Agroindustrial Pomalca (LM: POM ) shed 2.84% or 0.004 points to 0.137.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 25 to 12 and 10 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was down 0.61% or 0.39 to $63.76 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 0.67% or 0.45 to hit $67.17 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.78% or 10.40 to trade at $1326.10 a troy ounce.

USD/PEN was up 0.56% to 3.2485, while EUR/PEN rose 0.62% to 4.0271.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 89.53.
