Peru shares higher at close of trade; S&P Lima General up 0.67% – Peru equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the S&P Lima Juniors , Food & Beverages and Mining sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General added 0.67% to hit a new 3-year high.

The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were PPX Mining Corp (LM: PPX ), which rose 19.51% or 0.01 points to trade at 0.05 at the close. Trevali Mining (LM: TV ) added 3.64% or 0.040 points to end at 1.140 and Volcan Minera (LM: VOL_pb ) was up 3.41% or 0.030 points to 0.910 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Edegel (LM: EDE ), which lost 2.95% or 0.070 points to trade at 2.300 in late trade. Backus Johnsto (LM: BKJi ) declined 1.71% or 0.290 points to end at 16.710 and Luz Del Sur (LM: LUZ ) shed 1.18% or 0.140 points to 11.700.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 21 to 11 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 1.65% or 0.80 to $47.61 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $52.17 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.09% or 1.19 to trade at $1293.51 a troy ounce.

USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.2375, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.8203.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.10% at 93.23.
