Peru shares higher at close of trade; S&P Lima General up 0.77%

Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Mining , Food & Beverages and Banking & Financials sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General added 0.77% to hit a new 3-year high.

The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Empresa Agroindustrial Pomalca (LM: POM ), which rose 8.72% or 0.013 points to trade at 0.162 at the close. Relapasa (LM: REL ) added 6.52% or 0.021 points to end at 0.343 and Compania Minera Milpo SAA Class I (LM: MILi ) was up 6.25% or 0.200 points to 3.400 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Candente Copper (LM: DNT ), which lost 2.36% or 0.0030 points to trade at 0.1240 in late trade. Unacem (LM: CEL ) declined 1.68% or 0.050 points to end at 2.920 and Luz Del Sur (LM: LUZ ) shed 0.74% or 0.090 points to 12.010.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 28 to 8 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.45% or 0.28 to $61.91 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.19% or 0.13 to hit $67.97 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.52% or 6.80 to trade at $1325.30 a troy ounce.

USD/PEN was down 0.85% to 3.2041, while EUR/PEN fell 0.57% to 3.8656.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.33% at 91.59.
