Peru shares higher at close of trade; S&P Lima General up 0.81% – Peru equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the S&P Lima Juniors , Banking & Financials and Mining sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General gained 0.81% to hit a new 3-year high.

The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were PPX Mining Corp (LM: PPX ), which rose 9.84% or 0.01 points to trade at 0.07 at the close. Candente Copper (LM: DNT ) added 8.33% or 0.0100 points to end at 0.1300 and Cerro Verde (LM: CVE ) was up 7.07% or 1.950 points to 29.550 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Grana Y Monter (LM: GRA ), which lost 2.32% or 0.070 points to trade at 2.950 in late trade. Minera Irl (LM: IRL ) unchanged 2.22% or 0.00 points to end at 0.09 and Buenaventura (LM: BVN ) shed 0.97% or 0.140 points to 14.260.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 24 to 5 and 12 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.80% or 0.41 to $51.70 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 1.17% or 0.67 to hit $57.90 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.59% or 7.58 to trade at $1282.42 a troy ounce.

USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.2365, while EUR/PEN fell 0.37% to 3.8167.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.61% at 93.57.
