Peru shares higher at close of trade; S&P Lima General up 0.91% – Peru equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Banking & Financials , Mining and Non-Metal Minerals sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General rose 0.91% to hit a new 3-year high.

The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Volcan Compania Minera SAA (LM: VOLa ), which rose 5.00% or 0.200 points to trade at 4.200 at the close. Relapasa (LM: REL ) added 3.45% or 0.012 points to end at 0.360 and Buenaventura (LM: BVN ) was up 2.52% or 0.360 points to 14.620 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Empresa Agroindustrial Pomalca (LM: POM ), which lost 7.14% or 0.012 points to trade at 0.156 in late trade. Edegel (LM: EDE ) declined 4.10% or 0.080 points to end at 1.870 and Inretail Peru (LM: INR ) shed 0.71% or 0.150 points to 20.850.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 21 to 8 and 13 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was up 1.07% or 0.68 to $64.48 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.90% or 0.62 to hit $69.88 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 1.26% or 16.70 to trade at $1339.20 a troy ounce.

USD/PEN was down 0.06% to 3.2175, while EUR/PEN rose 0.80% to 3.9036.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 1.11% at 90.64.
