Peru shares higher at close of trade; S&P Lima General up 1.53% – Peru equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the S&P Lima Juniors , Mining and Banking & Financials sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General added 1.53% to hit a new 3-year high.

The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Candente Copper (LM: DNT ), which rose 6.90% or 0.0080 points to trade at 0.1240 at the close. PPX Mining Corp (LM: PPX ) unchanged 4.48% or 0.00 points to end at 0.07 and Relapasa (LM: REL ) was up 3.23% or 0.010 points to 0.320 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Bolsa de Valores de Lima SAA (LM: BVL ), which lost 2.82% or 0.100 points to trade at 3.450 in late trade. Casa Grande (LM: CSG ) declined 1.45% or 0.090 points to end at 6.100 and Cem Pacasmayo (LM: CPA ) shed 1.23% or 0.100 points to 8.050.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 25 to 5 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was down 0.08% or 0.05 to $60.37 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 0.48% or 0.32 to hit $66.55 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.75% or 9.80 to trade at $1319.10 a troy ounce.

USD/PEN was down 0.18% to 3.2318, while EUR/PEN rose 0.39% to 3.9009.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.46% at 91.57.
