Peru shares higher at close of trade; S&P Lima General up 0.13% – Peru equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the S&P Lima Juniors , Banking & Financials and Non-Metal Minerals sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General added 0.13% to hit a new 52-week high.

The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Corporacion Aceros Arequipa SA (LM: ARE ), which rose 5.71% or 0.040 points to trade at 0.740 at the close. Bolsa de Valores de Lima SAA (LM: BVL ) added 4.54% or 0.150 points to end at 3.450 and Panoro (LM: PML ) was up 4.10% or 0.005 points to 0.127 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Relapasa (LM: REL ), which lost 2.22% or 0.005 points to trade at 0.220 in late trade. Minsur (LM: MINi ) declined 1.44% or 0.020 points to end at 1.370 and Alicorp (LM: ALI ) shed 0.99% or 0.080 points to 8.020.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 16 to 13 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 1.75% or 0.84 to $48.73 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $50.92 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.74% or 9.29 to trade at $1261.39 a troy ounce.

USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.2450, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.7778.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.67% at 93.29.
