Peru shares higher at close of trade; S&P Lima General up 0.85% – Peru equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the S&P Lima Juniors , Non-Metal Minerals and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General added 0.85% to hit a new 1-month high.

The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Panoro (LM: PML ), which rose 7.26% or 0.009 points to trade at 0.133 at the close. Grana Y Monter (LM: GRA ) added 6.11% or 0.140 points to end at 2.430 and Minera Irl (LM: IRL ) was up 4.55% or 0.01 points to 0.12 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Enel Distribucion Peru SAA (LM: ENE ), which lost 9.17% or 0.550 points to trade at 5.450 in late trade. Trevali Mining (LM: TV ) declined 3.03% or 0.030 points to end at 0.960 and Backus Johnsto (LM: BKJi ) shed 1.95% or 0.300 points to 15.100.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 24 to 6 and 8 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was up 1.69% or 0.85 to $51.09 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 0.26% or 0.14 to hit $54.33 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.28% or 3.50 to trade at $1257.50 a troy ounce.

USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.2510, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.4645.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 100.42.
