Peru shares higher at close of trade; S&P Lima General up 2.34% – Peru equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Non-Metal Minerals , S&P Lima Juniors and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General added 2.34% to hit a new 6-month high.

The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Trevali Mining (LM: TV ), which rose 18.25% or 0.073 points to trade at 0.473 at the close. Grana Y Monter (LM: GRA ) added 13.79% or 0.600 points to end at 4.950 and Sider (LM: SID ) was up 10.42% or 0.025 points to 0.265 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Luz Del Sur (LM: LUZ ), which lost 1.82% or 0.190 points to trade at 10.240 in late trade. Inretail Peru (LM: INR ) declined 0.06% or 0.010 points to end at 17.000 and Alicorp (LM: ALI ) 0.00% or 0.000 points to 6.800.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 23 to 7 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 3.06% or 1.26 to $42.45 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 0.09% or 0.04 to hit $43.98 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 1.41% or 17.40 to trade at $1252.40 a troy ounce.

USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.2515, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.7092.

The US Dollar Index was down 0.40% at 94.07.
