Peru shares lower at close of trade; S&P Lima General down 0.67% – Peru equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Banking & Financials , Industrials and Non-Metal Minerals sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General declined 0.67%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Edegel (LM: EDE ), which rose 1.52% or 0.030 points to trade at 2.000 at the close. Cerro Verde (LM: CVE ) added 1.40% or 0.400 points to end at 28.900 and Enel Distribucion Peru SAA (LM: ENE ) was up 1.40% or 0.080 points to 5.800 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Volcan Compania Minera SAA (LM: VOLa ), which lost 4.76% or 0.200 points to trade at 4.000 in late trade. Credicorp (LM: BAP ) declined 1.85% or 4.06 points to end at 215.85 and Grana Y Monter (LM: GRA ) shed 1.84% or 0.030 points to 1.600.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 10 to 9 and 17 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was up 0.40% or 0.24 to $60.95 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $64.83 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.16% or 2.10 to trade at $1325.00 a troy ounce.

USD/PEN was down 0.31% to 3.2525, while EUR/PEN fell 0.23% to 4.0331.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 89.75.
