Peru shares lower at close of trade; S&P Lima General down 0.85% – Peru equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Mining , Banking & Financials and Non-Metal Minerals sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General declined 0.85%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Aceros Arequip (LM: AREi ), which rose 2.78% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.740 at the close. Bco Continenta (LM: CON ) added 2.35% or 0.100 points to end at 4.350 and Inretail Peru (LM: INR ) was up 1.56% or 0.340 points to 22.100 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Buenaventura (LM: BVN ), which lost 4.28% or 0.680 points to trade at 15.210 in late trade. Trevali Mining (LM: TV ) declined 3.60% or 0.040 points to end at 1.070 and Andino Investment Holding SAA (LM: AIH ) shed 2.16% or 0.040 points to 1.810.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 20 to 11 and 14 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was down 2.01% or 1.26 to $61.34 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 1.93% or 1.27 to hit $64.52 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.67% or 8.90 to trade at $1326.30 a troy ounce.

USD/PEN was up 0.03% to 3.2535, while EUR/PEN fell 0.16% to 4.0369.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 89.55.
