Peru shares lower at close of trade; S&P Lima General down 0.85%

Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Mining , Banking & Financials and S&P Lima Juniors sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General fell 0.85%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Empresa Agroindustrial Pomalca (LM: POM ), which rose 3.64% or 0.004 points to trade at 0.114 at the close. Cerro Verde (LM: CVE ) added 0.16% or 0.040 points to end at 24.550 and Cem Pacasmayo (LM: CPA ) was unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 points to 7.500 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Candente Copper (LM: DNT ), which lost 8.33% or 0.0050 points to trade at 0.0550 in late trade. Panoro (LM: PML ) declined 7.18% or 0.014 points to end at 0.181 and Trevali Mining (LM: TV ) shed 5.36% or 0.030 points to 0.530.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 22 to 4 and 13 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.33% or 0.22 to $67.41 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.10% or 0.07 to hit $72.74 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 1.52% or 18.50 to trade at $1200.50 a troy ounce.

USD/PEN was up 0.21% to 3.2875, while EUR/PEN rose 0.21% to 3.7460.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 96.16.
