Peru shares lower at close of trade; S&P Lima General down 1.16%

Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the S&P Lima Juniors , Industrials and Non-Metal Minerals sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General fell 1.16% to hit a new 6-month low.

The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Bco Continenta (LM: CON ), which rose 1.46% or 0.060 points to trade at 4.160 at the close. Luz Del Sur (LM: LUZ ) added 0.84% or 0.100 points to end at 12.000 and Backus Johnsto (LM: BKJi ) was up 0.09% or 0.020 points to 22.020 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Panoro (LM: PML ), which lost 11.11% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.160 in late trade. Candente Copper (LM: DNT ) declined 10.53% or 0.0060 points to end at 0.0510 and Sider (LM: SID ) shed 9.09% or 0.050 points to 0.500.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 24 to 4 and 12 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 1.77% or 1.24 to $68.63 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.06% or 0.05 to hit $77.06 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.27% or 3.20 to trade at $1202.30 a troy ounce.

USD/PEN was up 0.03% to 3.3165, while EUR/PEN rose 0.38% to 3.8542.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.31% at 95.07.
