Portugal shares higher at close of trade; PSI 20 up 0.04%

Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms , Utilities and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.04%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS: MOTA ), which rose 1.86% or 0.0370 points to trade at 2.0250 at the close. EDP Renovaveis (LS: EDPR ) added 1.74% or 0.1500 points to end at 8.7700 and EDP (LS: EDP ) was up 1.62% or 0.0510 points to 3.2010 in late trade.

Biggest losers included J. Martins SGPS (LS: JMT ), which lost 3.59% or 0.4400 points to trade at 11.8300 in late trade. Pharol SGPS SA (LS: PHRA ) declined 2.74% or 0.0046 points to end at 0.1632 and The Navigator Company SA (LS: NVGR ) shed 1.68% or 0.0740 points to 4.3280.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 18 to 16 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Brent oil for December delivery was up 0.60% or 0.51 to $85.31 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.32% or 0.24 to hit $75.47 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.32% or 3.90 to trade at $1203.10 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was down 0.22% to 1.1522, while EUR/GBP fell 0.33% to 0.8868.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 95.36.
